The museum documents how society has developed in Slovakia from medieval times to the present. Besides attractive exhibitions on display, a tour of the museum includes the castle’s impressive interior. Walk up the splendid staircase dating from the reign of Maria Theresa and then continue to the top of the Crown Tower with stunning views of the city and surrounding area.

On 20th April 2026, the museum will be open from 15:00 to 18:00 only.
